Head of Financial Performance & Control

Volvo Group’s Service Market Logistics (SML) is a fantastic, always-evolving workplace, with a huge challenge. Success for our customer is dependent on the machine they bought continuing to run. SML’s task is to secure that when they need a service part, it is available to them. The bus that takes your kids to school, the back-up generator that keeps the hospital going, or the truck that delivers groceries to your store. Every second across the globe, one order line is shipped, to serve Volvo Group’s products. To be world-leading in this logistic ballet, a constant optimization of sustainability, service level, inventory and cost is crucial. This is where you come in. We need someone who creates transparency in our financial performance, together with their team and network.
In this role, you will be a part of the SML Controlling & Business Office Team and lead, coach and grow a diverse team of controllers with broad skill sets. We are very proud to be collaborative and supportive as a team, and of our strong improvement record, but we are also curious and in the forefront of the opportunities that our digitalization journey provides. We’d like to see the same characteristics in you!
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Your main mission will be to create transparency in our financial performance. To create this transparency, you and your team and network will have some key challenges and focus areas:
  • Financial stability – Secure a base to understand the overall financial performance
  • Analytic capability – Explore data in an efficient way for information purposes
  • Story telling – Take the information analyzed and make it into something actionable
What we achieve is always dependent on our people. As a leader, you will nurture, grow and promote people not only to solve our challenges, but also to secure their future career opportunities.
Essential Experience, Skills and Competencies
We know that nobody knows everything. Therefore, we strongly believe in the power of a team, of building on each other’s strengths and competences. As a team we can go wherever we want to go. We also believe that in a diverse and collaborative environment, we learn and grow ourselves. So, if you are not ‘ticking all boxes’, don’t worry. But to fit into this culture you should be a team player and have a growth mindset, to develop yourself but also to help other people grow.
There are four areas where we will look for strengths and an edge that you can bring to us as a team:
  • Leadership – Grow and build teams and people to take on challenges and our future
  • Financial – Financial acumen in global organizations to secure compliance and stability
  • Business – Logistics, distribution or service sales competences to put financials into context
  • Digitalization – BI, ML and other tools supporting a data-to-information journey
