Applications Engineer – Marine Sales Department
Location – Flexible within UK.

For the Marine Sales department we are looking for an Applications Engineer to join our small, dedicated team. Are you a real team player with a solution and service-oriented attitude who likes to think along with the customer? And do you have an affinity with diesel and electrical engineering? About the Role
The Marine Sales department is responsible for the sales process of pleasure craft and commercial marine engines. They are also responsible for the sale of parts and accessories through the dealer network, OEMs and to large yards. As the applications engineer you are the technical contact for our OEMs and dealers. Your job is to support them in making the right selection for the desired drive for the application. You provide first-line technical support and technical documentation. You will give installation advice and you perform installation checks. With this you ensure an optimal, problem-free fully approved installation and you contribute to a high customer satisfaction. You will also work closely with Volvo Penta Sales and other European engineers.
To be successful in this role we are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following -
- Knowledge of diesel, petrol engines and generator sets across various application possibilities with a transition to electric and hybrid propulsion systems.
- A qualification or relevant experience in engineering or Naval Architecture
- Proactive and positive attitude in combination with a commercial attitude
- Ability to work in a structured way and quickly switch between priorities
- Service-oriented, accurate, team player, independent and self-starting
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Happy to travel within the UK and Ireland with occasional to Sweden and other European countries.
