Position Description-The Senior FP&A Analyst will serve as a key member of the Finance team and will directly support the Director of Finance in various areas of the business. This role will also have deep involvement in data analysis and in the development of key performance indicators by which operating results and trends can be meaningfully monitored.
-Develop and maintain a financial model for the Company’s annual Business Plan (budget)
-Provide detailed Budget versus Actual variance analysis for monthly operating results along with MD&A commentary
-Identify opportunities for business process/workflow improvements for financial reporting and internal control framework
-Develop and track a comprehensive set of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
-Collaborate with Director of Finance in preparation of the monthly Board reporting
-Support Finance team in monthly financial close processes
-Develop and maintain system/process documentation for key Finance procedures
-Research complex operational issues to provide insights and decision support for process improvements
-Lead Ad-hoc reporting/research
-Partner with Director of Finance to develop cost controls
-Reasoning skills combined with excellent judgment.
-Communication proficiency-Ability to effectively convey ideas, concepts, conclusions to different audiences within the Company
-Solid understanding of concepts, practices and compliance with accounting principles and controls
-Ability to analyze and process complex data into understandable information and recommendations
-Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism when dealing with staff members of all levels
-Solid attention to details combined with troubleshooting skills
-Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Education and Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration (required)
-MBA or CPA (preferred)
-5+ years of working experience in an FP&A (or similar) role (required)
-Excellent level of knowledge in Excel (required), high level working knowledge of other MS Office apps
-Experience with the development of PowerPoint presentations
-Experience with ERP configuration/optimization projects
-Occasional travel to other VCES branches
-Experience in Construction Equipment industry preferred
-Adhere to all VCES safety policies
