Material Analyst

Distribution Centre (DC) Singapore manages Service Market Business supporting all Volvo Group businesses in the region including Volvo CE, Volvo Group Trucks, Volvo Bus and Volvo Penta. The primary interface with these entities is through Sales and Marketing's Aftermarket Commercial function.

THE POSITION
You will be a member of our Supply Planning & Dealer Inventory Management (DIM) team that is responsible for a span of activities from Dealer Inventory Management, material refill, and material analysis. We aim to provide excellent availability level to at our dealers to serve the end-customers, while keeping a good level of cost and capital tied up.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Material/Inventory Analyst
  • You will be responsible for coordination of the internal parts supply chain from Central Distribution Centers all the way to customer order allocation: analysis, activities follow-up
  • You will be responsible for regular coordination between site operation and sales team to secure efficient information flow and goods flow
  • You will be responsible for KPI analysis (Availability, Backorder Recovery), and identify and drive activities to improve the KPI, initiate corrective or improvement actions involving cross-functional teams
  • You will be responsible for inventory analysis (obsolescence and scrapping activities follow up), and drive all types of activities for inventory optimisation
  • You will be responsible for the campaign and other special demand coordination and preparation
  • You will be the key user in our function for several systems to maintain and develop the functionalities
  • You are strongly encouraged to work on the automation of low value-adding tasks
Refill Analyst
  • Perform weekly planning from suppliers (internal/external) to Singapore regional warehouse as well as backorder recovery, initiate root cause analysis and improvement actions
  • Work cross-functionally with different stakeholders to secure the most efficient good flow supported by timely information exchanged with the sales team
Dealer Inventory Management (DIM) Coach
  • Responsible for planning activities from Singapore regional warehouse to dealers
  • Monitor & analyse dealer performance within market scope on a weekly and daily basis
  • Perform training & coaching for dealers under your scope in order to continuously improve performance (reactive as well as proactive coaching)
  • Responsible to implement the DIM concept to new dealers if any
  • Support the team and perform cross-functional activities in our operation
Support Business Objectives, Lean Processes & Continuous Improvement
  • You will be responsible for the measurements within your area, such as updating and analysing reasons where we do not meet targets and proposing improvements
  • You will analyse and report dealer performance, improving intelligence and supporting data to drive solutions towards a "lean" process
  • You will support the team and perform cross-functional activities in our operation
  • You will not only do the job but also continuously improve the way of doing it individually as well as together with the team and manager

REQUIREMENTS
  1. Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or having relevant working experience in a Material Refiller / Analyst / Planner role
  2. A strong mindset to support dealers and customers
  3. Strong cross-functional team player and respect for individual
  4. High level of responsibility, ability to work independently and escalate issues effectively
  5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Works in a structured way and bases actions on facts
  6. Excellent in Microsoft Excel, able to manipulate data sets and present data intelligently. Knowledge of Microsoft Access and Power BI is desirable
  7. Excellent in communication skills, people relationships, teamwork, and how to logically and convincingly present information for acceptance
  8. Takes initiative and proactively drives to improve
  9. Positive attitude and willingness to continuously develop & learn
  10. Act according to the Volvo Values (Customer Success, Trust, Passion, Change. Performance)
  11. Fluency in speaking and writing in English, and other Asian languages will be a merit as documents are in English and one will be working closely with colleagues within the APAC region
