If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of manufacturing facilities and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations. You will be a part of the transformation in our industry, working with modern technologies and building competencies for tomorrow.

In parallel, you will grow your interpersonal skills through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join several learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization:
Volvo Polska is a part of Volvo Group – one of the world manufacturer’s leaders of trucks, construction equipment, buses and drive systems. In Wrocław, Poland, we are producing City/Intercity buses and Coaches, and we are the only production facility of Volvo Buses in Europe. Complete, full electric, hybrid and hybrid-electric buses are leaving our factory each day. To make it happen our Logistics Engineering Team gives their best daily to develop, implement and improve logistic solutions securing manufacturing processes. We are taking care of storing and handling materials properly. Our goal is to create conditions to utilize available space and devices in an efficient way according to lean principles.

This is us, your new team:
Logistics Engineering Team is a part of Volvo Bus organization. We are situated in the Manufacturing Development Department. There are six of us and we are all professionals in logistics. On a daily basis, we are working hand-in-hand with our colleagues from other departments such internal material handling, material controlling, quality, engineering and production. Our focus area is to secure a logistics point of view in all projects and initiatives running within our plant. We are also responsible for packaging, warehouse layout, fleet of forklifts and logistics infrastructure. Briefly – in close cooperation with all internal departments we are developing processes securing just-in-time deliveries of all necessary components required for the production of our buses!

Job Description:
As a Junior SCM Engineer, you are responsible for:
  • Leading improvement initiatives
  • Representing our team in cross-functional projects
  • Tasks related to necessary process documentation
  • Retrieving opportunities for improving processes
The job requires good communication skills to establish relationships with other departments within the Wrocław factory but also with other Volvo facilities.
Moreover, you are a member of project teams transforming our logistics future at Volvo Group. Based on that, you will actively gain knowledge in the field of Lean Manufacturing and end-to-end approach implemented in our factory. You have the opportunity to learn how several different functional areas work and to get familiar with the whole bus manufacturing process.

We are looking for someone who communicates easily and feels comfortable working with other people. What’s more, you also have a strong interest in logistics and upcoming challenges in the automotive industry. Our environment is challenging and dynamic, so it is important that you are able to deal with stressful situations and adapt easily to changes.

Required knowledge/competencies:
  • A BSc or MSc in Logistics, Production Engineering, Economy or similar
  • Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential
  • You are familiar with methods and principles of project management
  • Flexibility – business trips and temporary foreign relocations are not a problem for you
