Logistics Planner

The main purpose of the job is to effectively prepare and administrate all the relevant documentation for each batch that comes into our logistics department.

Reporting: This position will report to the Logistics and CA Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inbound CKD kit shipment

  • To upload each batch’s Shipping Documents onto the X-Dock SharePoint.
  • To determine & co-ordinate the container unpacking destination and priority list.
  • To determine & co-ordinate the calling off of production material and components from the External logistics service provider.
  • To compile the local Logistics Unpacking List data pack for each batch.
Unpacking Control Report (UCR) and Extra Order (EO)
  • To coordinate with the unpacking team to ensure that all UCR's are completed and uploaded to the System/SharePoint at least once per day.
  • To expedite outstanding parts (UCR’s and EO’s) with suppliers and courier companies.

Production Scheduling

  • To compile and distribute the Batch GOK. Updating Production Schedule (Deviations).
  • Co-Pilot/Planning system;
    • To update and maintain planning dates for each batch.
    • To update factory stock for each batch.
    • To correct End Dates (where applicable for delayed units).
  • Consolidate and provide feedback to the various stakeholders on the Production status, backlogs and urgent units.
  • To compile and distribute the Production Schedule for the supplier relevant suppliers.
  • Forecast compilation and communications to different stakeholders.
  • Link between Production Logistics and Plant for vehicle movements (complete and incomplete).
  • Link between plant and external support for non-GOK units.

SAP/Financial activities

  • Logistics SAP internal processes/activities.
  • Local production material.
  • Consumables / Ad-hoc purchases.
  • Expediting of any outstanding / overdue orders;
    • To data capture chassis and SCOS data into Automate/system.
    • To invoice completed chassis to GTS out of Automate/system.


  • To carry out other tasks as requested from time to time.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Matric.
  • Diploma in either Logistics, and/or Purchasing Management and/or Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience.
  • Proven SAP working experience will be an advantage.

Job Knowledge & Skills Requirements:

  • Proven MS Office skills are essential (especially MS Excel).
  • Proven SAP working experience will be an advantage.
  • Supply chain experience is advantageous.
  • Must be flexible.
  • Must be diligent, High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work without constant supervision.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
