  • Studying for a Mechanical Engineering degree or related degree.

  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.

  • Academic grades on track for a first or 2:1 on their chosen studies

About the Job

You will be part of the Volvo Trucks Operations department, based in Warwick. Volvo Trucks is a world-leading truck manufacturer, committed to drive progress and shape the future landscape of sustainable transports. We are a close and supportive team that works hard to provide total transport solutions in the medium to heavy-duty segment and offer support to customers in more than 130 countries. As an intern, your role would be to support the team and gain insight from a variety of experts while working on projects within the field.


  • Management of the Internship Projects as stated below.

  • General assistance to other members of the team as required

  • Supporting the Truck product support specialist with new customer specifications

  • Review the offer to align with the sales teams.

  • Assist with the development of training materials for the Volvo Trucks sales academy.

  • Represent and support Volvo Trucks at trade shows and customer events if required

  • Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by your manager

To support the product team, you will take part in the day to day of team operations and offer review of some of the working methods listed below.

The projects you may undertake:

  • Analysing the Volvo Sales support tool (VSS)

  • Developing the process and documenting the way of working – for reference and sales training.

  • Reviewing the interaction of the Volvo sales tools

  • Weight Information System (WIS), Performance (PERF), Total Cost or Ownership (TCO) and Electric Route System.

  • As well as gaining an understanding of:

  • The truck product offer and legislation and how these impact on the systems used by the sales team.

  • How the truck market is made up and how the truck is adapted – into the discrete sectors: long haul, distribution and construction.
