Design Engineer Electrical

Volvo Group Australia has an opening for an Electrical Design Engineer to join the professional collegial team at Group Truck Technology.

This role will see you take the technical lead in our future implementation of alternative vehicle propulsion systems. Volvo Group Australia has ambitious targets for climate change and our part to play at GTT is evolving daily. As the Engineering contact for the decarbonisation programs you will be a key member of the local team while connecting us to the Global development centers.

About the role:

• Participate in local forums to define the right strategy for the future of VGA markets.
• Provide technical guidance to the commercial teams on the product range, capabilities, suitability and vehicle specifications.
• Review and agree the customer profiles and applications for the early stage vehicles.
• Work with GTT globally to understand the product developments, and bring back key knowledge to educate our local teams in all areas of VGA.
• Provide our needs toward the global project teams, securing that our local demands are met with product that can be sold in our markets.
• Prepare the local VGA teams for the future manufacturing plans at the Wacol factory.
• Report the progress of decarbonisation projects to the local Management team.
• Salary Range – AUD90-100K

About you:

• Engineering qualification
• Experience in automotive design, electrical systems
• RPEQ membership or eligibility to obtain it
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Prepared to work irregular hours to engage with global teams outside of normal times
• Driven to see the future become reality in cleaning the transport industry
• Strong interpersonal skills
