The Systems Engineering team is in the heart of the electromobility and digital transformation within the automotive industry. We develop new systems, architectures, and concepts with focus on electrical and connectivity systems for our conventional, electric, and autonomous vehicles.
We are currently looking for a passionate Electrical Engineering System Architect to define and maintain functionality roadmaps for current and future generations of North America vehicle engineering and connectivity platform solutions.
Who We AreOur team, Vehicle Engineering at Volvo Group North America is responsible for developing and implementing platform/design solutions for the Volvo and Mack Trucks. The Systems Engineering group develops design concepts for various electrical systems by networking with local and global stakeholders.

What You Will be DoingAs a System Architect, you will contribute to all stages of product development, from early phase pre-studies to system concept design, architecture, and functions development. You will work with stakeholders from various technology teams and product owners to identify design concepts that will best meet our customer’s needs.
You will lead and coordinate and define system design concept development of cross functional system design activities and communicate with stakeholders and developers. You will own and develop vehicle functionality roadmaps for different programs. As a system architect you must understand the high-level functionality of an application or product from both a technical and conceptual viewpoint. Qualifications include years of relevant experience and well-developed skills in system analysis, system development and product management.

Requirements:
- BSEE/BSME required; MSEE/MSME or PhD preferred and relevant experience
- Commercial vehicle or automotive research and product development, or similar industry experience (e.g. consumer, telecom, etc.)
- Detailed knowledge about Electronic Hardware / Software & Supporting Infrastructure Architecture Design & Overall Development
- Knowledge of different automotive or related industry communication protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet, LIN), standards & tools
- Knowledge of tools related to software development, diagnostics & production / aftermarket systems
- Experienced in working in an environment of global / local organization with cross functional interaction
- Well-versed in Agile way of working & SAFe as well as good understanding of project operations
