Visual Design & Developer

ELearning designer/developer– Learning Design & Development (On Contract)

We are seeking exceptional ELearning designer / developer talent. You would be working closely with Instructional Designers and Product Managers to develop eLearning solutions and its implementation. The position reports to the Product Manager.

You will be responsible for designing and developing training materials (mainly eLearning) using different methods and applications. You’ll work closely with an Instructional Designer and Product Manager to ensure the effectiveness of solutions for the intended audience. Thus, not only is experience with WBT/CBT required; you must bring a real passion for online training and interactive technologies.

To function in this position, you must be self-directed, good knowledge in trends with the WBT area and project -oriented.


Knowledge, skills and characteristics required:


Domain specific

  • Very good skills and knowledge about visual design, development and programming, commonly used tools like Animate CC, Captivate, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Articulate Storyline and similar. Also HTML5 skills are needed since many of the eLearning will be distributed on mobile devices.

  • Knowledge of learning theories and skills to apply the learning theories for eLearning courseware (only a basic awareness of the which theories there are will be adequate)




Core ELearning design/ development skills
As a designer/developer, you should also possess the following core design and development capabilities:

  • Understanding of eLearning process, from analyse to storyboard/manuscript, design, development and distribution.

  • Creation of Moodboards: Visual design suggestions to define the eLearning framework and pitch the content to customer.

  • Creation of Design: Develop framework, Graphical User Interface (GUI) and graphical elements for eLearning.

  • Multimedia Development:

    • Use multimedia tools (Animate CC, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator etc) to develop eLearning programs.

    • Object oriented programming, HTML, HTML5, Javascript, API,

    • Integrate Audio and Video in different formats (flv,wmv,mpg4, mp3, Wav, etc)

  • Review existing eLearning: review and secure the quality of code structure in existing eLearnings.

  • Good usability skills. Preferably on a global basis.

  • Knowledge about SCORM coding and standards: Standards like 1.2, 1.4, TinCan. Experiences working with different LMS are good.

In addition to the above mentioned knowledge and skills, the following skills would be preferable:

  • Ability to participate at the proposal stage by crafting visual approaches to projects to help differentiate us from our competitors

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and interact in a professional, friendly and team-oriented manner with all company and client personnel.

  • Ability to perform under pressure and maintain emotional composure under stress.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances and events.

  • Being creative: “Think outside the box”.

  • Decision-making skills, with the ability to exercise independent discretion and judgment

  • Ability to effectively organise your schedule to ensure timely completion of all projects within the scheduled time frames

  • Ability to accurately and succinctly communicate with other team members and clients


Education and experience:

  1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in one of the following fields preferred namely, Elearning Design / development, Web Designer / Developer, Multimedia & Communication, or related disciplines.

  2. Knowledge of web and Elearning development objectives, adult learning principles and learning theory

  3. Knowledge of information mapping and eLearning design principles

  4. Five to seven years’ experience as an Elearning designer / developer in an eLearning company
