Vivian Li works as Manager Pricing & Business Analysis in the Asia Oceania Sales office in Singapore. Her key responsibilities are parts pricing for three of the Volvo Group’s truck brands: Volvo, Renault and UD Trucks.
Vivian has attended a Master Class on Revenue management, Value creation and Pricing. A Master Class is an advanced learning event arranged in cooperation with other universities, where Volvo Group University has the possibility to take advantage of guest lecturers who are leading professionals in their field of expertise.
“Price management is clearly a topic that is very much related to my daily work,” says Vivian. “I want to learn about other advanced ways of pricing and be exposed to new ideas, which can help me think out of the box.”
Vivian appreciated that the course was not limited to the truck industry. It included examples from other businesses, which helped to broaden the horizon for the attendees. She is keen to develop in her role and will bring ideas from the course into her daily job. She explains: “Working in the same industry for many years will sometimes trap us in certain ways of thinking. Having the chance to get to know best practice from other industries will enlighten us to other ways of thinking. This will help us to be more innovative and strategic.”
