Technology is a new function within Group Digital & IT with a big stake in the Group’s digital transformation. We will modernize Volvo’s core digital backbone making it a platform for digital products. Our Foundational IT products are used by digital product teams and enable them and their products to outperform Volvo’s competitors. Our digital talents develop capabilities and digital technologies to improve business performance and create value for the Group with speed and at scale.

We collaborate with other parts of the organization, both in Group Digital & IT and other Group Functions. We foster an environment where ideas, thoughts and opinions can be shared. We are team players with clear common ambitions, and we win together!

This is how you could make an impact
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of an Agile scrum team developing and maintaining solutions within Aftermarket domain. You will be part of creating a good team spirit and a fun place to work that appeals others to join the team and by that the results will follow. As a part of global unit, you will need to actively cooperate with various stakeholders and navigate with ease in a multi-cultural environment.

Responsibilities as a Software Engineer:
  • Involve in both maintenance and new development projects
  • Adhere to the coding standards, DevOps methodology & agile WoW in the delivery
  • Accomplish the delivery tasks as per the agreed time plan.
  • Support the team in addressing/removing the impediments in the delivery

Who are you?
Tech Skills Needed:
  • Java 8 Advanced/J2EE, Spring & Spring Boot, Maven/Gradle, Junit, JTA, Jenkins, IBM MQ, JMS, PL/SQL (DB2, Postgres), JPA, App & WebServers (JBoss/WebSphere/OpenLiberty)
  • Integrate with Service end points such as REST, Spring Boot, Web sockets, Message Queues (IBM MQ et al.)
Experience Needed:
  • 3+ years of overall experience as a Full stack Java Developer
  • 2+ years of hands-on with Java/J2EE/Spring, Springboot, Junit, Git, JPA/JDBC, JMS, Web technologies
  • Experience in working with Restful services
  • Experience in working with Web frontend, Data intensive apps, Web & Application Security (Server & Cloud) & creating unit test case scenarios.
  • University Degree in Engineering or similar IT graduation
  • You have good communication & presentation skills
