Team Leader - Stock Management



GTO Service Market Logistics (SML) APAC is a part of Group Trucks Operations (GTO) being globally active in more than 40 locations delivering world-class operational excellence for our customers, based on smart logistics solutions we have. Our job is to develop, manage and optimize the Service Market supply chain for all Volvo Group brands.

The primary purpose of the Team Leader - Stock Management role is to ensure that all operational activities within the Warehouse are carried out in a cost-conscious, efficient and productive manner in order to achieve the required performance and quality targets pertaining to our customer’s needs and requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
In this role you will be required to exhibit and drive the Volvo Group ethics, values and code of conduct at all times; maintain compliance with company standards, while leading and operating in a safety prioritised environment; foster and lead a strong collaborative team environment within the warehouse by effectively and proactively communicating with all team members, team leaders and management.

Other Key Responsibilities include:
Warehouse Operations
  • Accountable for all team and personal results
  • Manage/support & counsel team members to ensure expectations, policies and goals are being met
  • Lead & Assist in training of team members
  • Coordinate and participate in all processes in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Monitor team members performance and council where necessary
  • Develop, compiling and updating of all relevant processes and work instructions for work areas
  • Process ALL necessary paper work to effectively run work area
  • Utilize ALL computer systems available to ensure efficient work area
  • Promote teamwork principles within team
  • Allocate work effectively and efficiently within the team
  • Promote and develop a customer orientated focus within the team
  • Monitor and strive to achieve set goals and achievements consistent with DC objectives
  • Support other warehouse sections
  • Liaise and support other team leaders
  • Lead 5S culture and overall warehouse organisation and cleanliness
  • Apply lean principles and enforce team adherence to maintaining principles application in all their tasks
  • Ensure compliance with VGA’s Environmental Policy, ISO9000 standards, and Workplace Health and Safety requirements. Take all reasonable steps and precautions to protect our workplace, employees, and our environment
  • Supporting and/or leading training of employees
  • Customer service surveys
  • Other duties as required

ABOUT YOU:
Qualifications
  • Current LO and LF Licences (preferred)
  • Senior Certificate (preferred)
  • Certificate III or IV in Warehousing or equivalent leadership certificate (preferred)
Experience and Skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate team members and other warehouse staff
  • Ability to deal with, and be supportive of colleagues/customers across all levels of the organisation
  • Team Player and proactive approach to team work
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and multi-cultural communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Solid time management skills
  • Flexible approach to work commitments
  • Strong computer and data input skills, Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems
  • Experience in running Stocktakes or Perpetual Counts
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Experience with Quality checking of product and discrepancy investigations
  • Previous experience in a warehouse environment
  • Operate available materials handling equipment as per applicable JSPs and HSE requirements
  • Experience in managing teams of people, planning work and scheduling resources as required
This role is being offered on a temporary full time basis at our Minto site, New South Wales.
