Role mission & context

As Solution Architect in the Data Organization, you have the technical responsibility of all data ingestions in the data platform.
Your mission is to define and design the ingestion architecture for one or more applications or services within the organization, ensuring maximum value from IT investments.
You are typically part of a product team and may also contribute to other teams in areas where data ingestion expertise is required. You collaborate with Enterprise Architects for strategic direction and follow established principles and guidelines, ensuring adherence to standards. You can have missions within Infrastructure Architecture, Integration Architecture or Software Architecture.
Your focus is on the technical decisions being made regarding solutions and how they meet business needs.
Part of Data unit within Volvo Group Digital& IT, you will be a central player of Volvo Data transformation journey.


Your main activities and responsibilities:
  • Manage Data ingestions patterns using relevant platforms, support services, methods and guidelines
  • Participate in technology selection
  • Contribute to Data Ingestion proof of concepts
  • Ensure usage of shared technical standards, tools, and platforms
  • Align with Volvo Group Security directives and fulfilling the customer demands for information security
  • Translate business requirements into IT architecture and describing it through a selection of architecture and design artifacts.
  • Initiate, drive/support and implement continuous improvement activities
  • Support Data Replication & Ingestion Manager in the assessment of technical team members and act as a mentor and coach for colleagues.
  • Be the go-to person for expertise on the ingestion technologies related topics

Required competencies:
  • Proven data ingestion (or integration) experience
  • Deep understanding of data platforms, data ingestion replication patterns and market trends in those areas is added value
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure technology stack
  • Demonstrated growth and learning mindset and commitment to innovation.
  • Experience working with IT solutions in heterogeneous/multi-platform environment.
  • Experience from working in a global context
  • Demonstrated growth and learning mindset and commitment to innovation.
  • Able to work with 3rd party operations and resources
  • Able to act as lead developer
  • Experience with Databricks, Azure DataFactory, Informatica is a plus
