Marketing and Communications Manager

Role
To be the owner of the Volvo Trucks business in Market : Middle East, Turkey & Africa within the area of responsibility to maximize the brands, products, sales potential through effective Marketing activities.

To manage communications and PR for all external communication concerning the brand, product, services and the company’s standpoint in key businesses at market level.

To be able to contribute to the strategic development, action and tools decided by Central MarCom and then execute the implementation in the markets.

Secure and roll-out product launches and post launches activities in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa.

Plan, control and report budgets’ related to the MarCom for the Markets in relation to: Public Relations, advertising, printed and digital communication tools, regional launches and events, importer events, seminars and fairs.
Provide support to Importers and business teams for all MarCom related activities to ensure quality of delivery and govern brand standards.

Responsibility
MarCom Plan / MarCom budget / MarCom guidelines / Communication strategy / Local Product Launch organisation and implementation / Post launches activities / Market Events, fairs, exhibitions, open house, openings / MarCom Brand positioning and Brand guidelines implementation.

Implement decided strategies, actions and tools to support an effective and efficient truck business through a marketing plan.

Set and communicate appropriate objectives, initiate actions, monitor performance and follow-up results which are aligned with business objectives.

Take lead in directing activity and resources in major product/customer events. Provide support to Importers for local events to ensure quality of delivery and govern brand standards.

Set activity plans and supporting budgets related to the Marketing and Communications across the Market i.e Middle East, Turkey & Africa.

Secure launch of new product (when applicable).

Develop and promote offerings in line with business objective, to drive the objectives of being number one in competitive set.

Act as spokesperson for the brand and to manage the communication of the market and its stand points on PR issues.

Be the subject matter expert for Marketing and Communication and contribute to the development of stakeholders.

Event management
  • Participates in the definition of the Global Marketing Plan and Importer Marketing Plan
  • Participates in Budget
  • Participates in the organisation of local exhibitions and events
  • Negotiates contracts with service providers for local events
  • Supports importers for their local events
  • Pilots Event budget

Communication & PR
  • Implements local adaptation on communication delivered by central marketing functions
  • Contributes to supplier selection and drive communication with sub-contractors according to central procedures
  • Manages local communication materials (Inventory, production, pricing, shipment)
  • Roll out advertising and promotional actions
  • Supports importers communication actions towards customers
  • Grant all brands communication charts and communication rules also at Importer level
  • Relay the communication & promotion actions defined in the marketing plan and ensure local promotion
  • Pilots budgets for local animation and promotion
  • Archive all related communication (PR and Ads)

Web
  • Pilots country websites, adapt local content and product offer
  • Ensures translation for local websites
  • Coordinates the activities linked to the web
  • Ensures the piloting of the dealer websites
  • Follows up statistics on country websites
  • Secures dealer websites

Others
  • Defines and controls local Marketing and Communication material (Internal shared platforms)
  • Secures event archives (actions, check lists, feedback, budget and follow up)
  • Point of contact between Region and Volvo Trucks team in Sweden
  • Monitors the merchandise requirements and stock
  • Local Campaigns Roll-out

Main Competencies
  • Proven success in the area of Marketing & Communications with preferred specialist experience in brand management.
  • Excellent communicator both written and oral
  • Able to demonstrate successful international business experience
  • Proven good organizational and planning skills
  • Good understanding of the retail business and environment.
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Product and campaign analyzing skills
  • Time management skills
  • A positive attitude towards travelling
  • Extensive experience from a marketing/PR background
  • Good understanding of the retail business and environment.

Education Background
  • Hold a university degree in business/marketing & communication
