Spray Painter | Production

The primary purpose of this position is the preparation and spray painting of Volvo and Mack branded trucks and chassis. A Production Spray Painter works in a team environment to perform duties as required within the truck production facility.

Preparation and Spray Painting of Vehicles

Production Targets
  • Work together with the Team Leader and the team to achieve daily targets and other team targets
  • To follow the directions of the Team Leader and / or Production Leader.
  • To follow the instructions of the company in accordance with the site EBA, Award and all company policies and procedures.
  • To work within a designated team of spray painters.
  • To use the correct tools and equipment for preparation and painting activities.
  • To liaise effectively with other teams as required
  • To take initiative and be involved in improving day to day business
Volvo Production Systems
  • To ensure housekeeping (5S) procedures are followed at all times
  • Adopt all other VPS tools as required by the company
  • Work with the OMS system to drive continuous improvement
  • Participate in the development of TEAMS in conjunction with your Team Leader and Production Leader
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement process
  • Work with Standardised work tool
  • To work in a Quality conscious manner at all times including carrying out Quality Checks and appropriate Quality System sign off.
  • To follow the designated build instructions in order to achieve product quality.
Safety and Environment
  • To work in a safe way, ensuring personal safety & that of fellow workers.

  • To wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment designated by the company policies
  • To report and action any safety and environmental incidents with the Team Leader(s)
  • To ensure compliance with VGA’s Environmental Policy, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and in general take any reasonable steps and precautions to protect or minimise harm to the workplace, its employees and the environment.
  • Basic numeracy/Literacy skills
  • Basic computer skills and or a willingness to learn
  • Able to follow written instructions and procedures

  • Able to use hand and power tools or a willingness to learn

This role is being offered on a temporary full time basis for 6 months and an immediate start is available for the right candidate.
