Sales Area Manager (SAM)


Reporting to Commercial director of Renault Trucks Italy, the candidate will be responsible to increase the volumes of new trucks sold, optimizing the sales process, territory management, local marketing initiatives, salesforce management with the aim to reach Renault Trucks ambition, with a rapid and strong market share increase.
The Sales Area Manager (SAM) will be accountant for the business results of his/her respective area, and will play a pivotal and crucial role between dealers and market company.
The SAM will ensure the respect of all Volvo group policies in all business activities and in the relation with both dealers and final customers.


The SAM will be responsible for:
  • Analyze sales potential and customer/dealers needs
  • Perform monthly/weekly market analysis in the respective areas related to market potential, demand and offer of LCV and MHDV, customer segmentation and their respective needs (long-haul, transportation, construction etc.)
  • Regularly visit dealers location face to face and salesforce
  • Act as a business partner in supporting dealer owners for investments, sales campaign, marketing actions, promotions, events etc.
  • Support local dealer salesforce during important negotiation with final customers
  • Ensure that sales process, salesforce and territory management is efficient and correctly implemented, assessing the results and the competences of salesmen
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, in order to maintain a strong relationship with them, building loyalty
  • Propose proactively changes or possible developments in his/her area
  • Support dealers in the yearly Business Plan preparation and implementation, to reach the targets in terms of Volumes, Prices, Margins and products mix
  • Actively operates in the implementation of new actions or projects necessary to reach company’s KPIs

  • Degree in Business Administration or Engineering
  • 5 years of experience as a Salesman, Key Account Management or similar role, with a strong preference for profiles with experience in dealers management and coming from the Trucks/Commercial vehicle industry
  • Excellent computer literacy with capability in Outlook, MS Office
  • Trade negotiation techniques
  • Knowledge of sales financing methods
  • Financial and accounting knowledge
  • Excellent computer literacy with capability in Outlook, MS Office
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Ability to build and maintain the relation with key clients
  • Ability to handle multiple client accounts
  • Strong negotiation and persuasive skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in Italian and English, preferable knowledge of French
  • Resident in northern Italy, preferably in Milano area
