Product Engineer-Mechanical

Summary of Responsibilities:
The purpose of this job is to provide professional service as a competent entry level mechanical engineer within a formal engineering process or a major project. This position performs routine and less complex engineering tasks supporting the mission of the department and/or Volvo GTO. Individual serves in a resource or support capacity for more complex assignments.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Serves as an entry level engineer in an area(s) of assignment with limited responsibility
  • Completing Order Specification with direction and supervision.
  • Assists in performing design, test/validation and/or development projects within area of assignment with guidance. Emphasis is placed on accuracy, accountability/ownership, adherence to formal internal and external standards, procedures and processes and accurate acceptable documentation and report writing.
  • Utilizes CAD systems to complete packaging and analytical studies.
  • Assures compliance with all applicable vehicle regulations (FMVSS, FMCSR, EPA, CARB, etc.) relating to his/her area of responsibility with direction and supervision.

Education4 year Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field
