The Volvo Trucks North America New River Valley Plant, located adjacent to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia, is the largest plant globally within the Volvo Group and is home to 100% of all Volvo trucks produced for the North American market.

Reporting to Business Control Director, you are part of the business control team. Your mission will be to provide reliable financial information to optimize the manufacturing costs of the Final Assembly Operations. You will assist the Business Control Director and the Final Assembly Teams in the operational and strategic management of their department through robust and timely financial analysis of their data. You will contribute to the improvement of processes, reporting tools, dashboards and the optimization of financial information flows via digitalization. You generate ideas and think outside of the box with an audacious attitude.
As a true Business Partner with Final Assembly Teams, your main missions will be:
- Contribute in timely & quality monthly closings and reporting, analyze and understand main deviations to forecast
- Translate the collected data into financial inputs to steer operational and strategic management
- Work proactively with Forecast / Budgeting in support of direction setting and needed actions to reach set targets
- Apply and respect the compliance of the financial rules and procedures of the Volvo Group and ensure they are being adhered to
- Drive cost savings and improve productivity through cost deployment and kaizen activities
- Active management team participation, drive and coach team understanding of financial impact from decisions and direction taken.

Are you able to work in a changing and demanding environment?
To be successful in this role, you must have proven analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. You should also have outstanding skills in developing and implementing processes to include experience with period/year-end closing.
In addition, excellent communication and presentation skills are in order to communicate successfully with internal and external stakeholders at different levels of the organization locally, nationally, and globally.
- 4 years Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required
- 5-7 years’ experience of controlling experience in an industrial environment
- Trucking/transportation industry experience is a plus.
- IT proficient: good knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP R/3. PowerBI skill is a bonus.
- Good understanding of AB Volvo financial reporting processes and systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English, written and spoken.
