Product Cybersecurity Architect

Product Cybersecurity Architect.


In this very challenging role, you will implement a cybersecurity management strategy on Nova Bus products. As such, you will be responsible for putting in place the structure required to assess threats and ensure product security within our product development process.

You will promote the measures to ensure safety at the level of the various systems present on board our vehicles. With the help of system experts and system engineers, you will periodically revisit the vehicle architecture in order to ensure that the systems always respond to new risks and threats to the product. You will have to establish regular governance to communicate industry best practices, review risks and monitor the actions in place to address them.

  • Develop a cybersecurity management structure for Nova Bus vehicles;
  • Act as an internal technical reference to system engineers regarding product cybersecurity;
  • Define and re-examine the systems architecture in the interest of product cybersecurity;
  • Recommend and validate the solutions to be implemented on our products from the design phase to the validation and testing stage;
  • Actively participate in system Design Reviews;
  • Ensure design consistency and strategies by dictating design guidelines and engineering design standards for product cybersecurity;
  • Work with our suppliers to validate their levels of compliance with industry best practice and standards;
  • Validate bid proposals for required changes in order to address cybersecurity risks and threats;
  • Participate in the development of penetration testing and validation plans;
  • Assess Vulnerabilities and Threats to Product Cybersecurity (TARA);
  • Establish the necessary actions to address potential threats;
  • Participate in FMEA activities;
  • Participate in customer reviews and tenders as a cybersecurity expert;
  • Participate in the evaluation of proposed product improvement projects.

  • Telework 5 days/week (Covid-19) then possibly in hybrid mode 2 days in the office and 3 days a week in telework

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or other related field;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in product development;
  • Knowledge of software product development and functionality in the vehicular field;
  • Knowledge of CAN networks in the vehicular field;
  • Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434, ISO 27000, ISO 26262 and other applicable standards;
  • Knowledge of wireless communication technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC);
  • Knowledge of connected communication technologies (CAN, Ethernet);
  • Knowledge of ITxPT is an asset;
  • Experience in the field of heavy vehicles, trains or buses is an asset;
  • Experience in managing client requirements and conditions of service;
  • Good communicator promoting teamwork;
  • Good overall vision and analytical mind;
  • Autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Bilingualism (English/French);
  • Excellent understanding of the functional approach and specifications.
