Job Description: This position will have a focus on becoming a supply chain planner of the future. You will ensure material is delivered in the right time, right place, and right quantity to support the Hagerstown Powertrain facility. Activities and responsibilities will include securing material from suppliers, in accordance with production schedules and with consideration to cost. You will investigate disruptions and take quick actions to secure material shortages and organize extra transports. Additionally, you will perform root cause analysis and make recommended proposals to remedy future disruptions. You will be responsible for communicating with suppliers when production is jeopardized and facilitate action plans, monitor progress, and escalate. In the event that a supplier is at fault for impacting our production you will calculate the cost impact and file a claim to recover the cost from the supplier. You will work closely with Volvo Production Logistics (PL) regarding transport deviations, investigate and track late arrivals, and missing transport or pallets. You will be responsible for keeping the procurement system up to date with parameters, current contact information and calendars as well as support suppliers in education on Volvo Procurement processes.
Starting salary for this position is $64,000

Required knowledge/experience: University degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or other related field and/or at least 3 years of experience in material procurement or planning. Fluent in English, other language skills could be considered as a merit Demonstrate understanding principles and standard practices of Supply Chain Management. Demonstrate understand basic transportation concepts. Very good and clear communication skills in a multicultural environment. Strong continuous improvement skills. Good analytic skill and logical way of thinking. Ability to manage crisis and conflicting situations. Volvo Group will not Sponsor for this position.
