Parts Representative

Job Summary and Purpose:
The Parts Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers in a team environment through telephone communications, electronic communications, and over the counter customer facing transactions. Additional responsibilities include supporting the daily workflow of the Parts Department (pulling, packaging and shipping merchandise) and assisting in warehouse operations (inventory maintenance, inventory control, material handling and warehouse organization). The Parts Representative will champion a “safety first”, “customer focused” and a “continuous improvement” culture, adhere to all VCES safety policies, procedures, standards, code of conduct and values.

Main Tasks/ Responsibilities:
  • Maintain exceptional attendance and punctuality. Practice good verbal and written communications, inter-personal and organizational skills. Use good judgement and sound decision making while working in a fast-paced environment. Provide courteous and professional customer service.
  • Answer incoming calls, respond to electronic communications, assist walk-in customers, guests and service providers.
  • Accurate order entry and order processing in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, service providers during the entire order fulfilment process to ensure customer satisfaction.

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of customer service experience in a related industry (construction, industrial, rental equipment, automotive parts). Proficient in a dealer management system (order entry, inventory control, electronic parts look-up). Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid California driver’s license.

Additional Important Requirements:
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
  • Requires working in a dusty and noisy environment.
  • Forklift certification or able to complete in-house certification.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a highly desirable.

For this position, the hourly rate is set at $23.00 - $25.00, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
