About the Role: We are looking for two talented and passionate engineers to join our ESS Thermal team in Gothenburg. As a Thermal Engineer, you will play a vital role in the development of thermal solutions for our future batteries in electric vehicles and machines. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in cooling and thermal management to optimize the performance, quality, and safety of our battery systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of thermal management systems for batteries, ensuring efficient cooling and heating control.
  • Contribute to thermal analyses, simulations, and testing to evaluate and optimize the thermal performance of energy storage system
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including cell experts, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, CAD engineer, geometrical architects, and simulation experts, to integrate thermal systems into battery.
  • Define and validate thermal requirements for battery, ensuring compliance with industry standards and technical requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve thermal-related issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in battery enclosure thermal management.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical engineering, Physics or similar.
  • 3 years of experience in thermal engineering, with a focus on cooling and thermal management.
  • Expertise in thermal management systems, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with battery electrical vehicles and machines and an understanding of the unique thermal challenges for the applications
  • It is meritorious if you have experience in designing and optimizing cooling systems for battery or similar systems.
  • It is meritorious if you have experience in thermal testing, simulation tools and CAD software.
