The Volvo Trucks North America New River Valley Plant (NRV), is the largest plant within the Volvo Group and comprises about 3500 employees. We manufacture 100% of all Volvo trucks produced for the North American and Canadian markets and we also paint Mack Heavy Duty and Medium Duty Cabs. NRV Plant is the home of many challenges, the last one being the Electric Trucks, and the next one being the complete renewal of our product while incorporating new technology.
NRV Plant builds every step of the truck: it has a Cab Factory consisting of many robots welding cabs before they are painted. Then the Cabs are transferred to Final Assembly where they are trimmed before being installed on their chassis. Finally, the truck goes through a series of testing to make sure we deliver a high-quality truck to our customers.
