As a Logistics Engineer in support of production areas, you will hold an important role in the Supply Chain and Assembly teams. You will report directly to the manager of Logistics Engineering and be part of a small team of nine Logistics Engineers. You will support the short and mid-term success of the function and the plant.
Main activities and responsibilities for these roles
- Reviewing production schedules, processes, specifications, and related information in order to design logistics processes that maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
- Provide engineering support by designing layouts, models, and assemblies along with detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
- Continuing the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS), which means to implement standardized ways of working and to optimize flows to create synchronization with production processes.
- Gathering, organizing, and analyzing data using Logistics’ metrics, analysis tools and key performance indicators to prioritize and execute improvement opportunities.
Critical competencies and experience
We are looking for a team member with a strong drive to deliver who will be committed to the teamwork environment through being a resourceful team player. Experience with decision making and influencing ability is key in being able to drive the implementation and necessary changes. Excellent communication skills will ease both team and cross functional work for allowing trustworthy network building.
The ideal candidate for this position has a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or another related major.
