What do we do?
We are the Simulation and Analytics Team in Powertrain Engineering within Volvo Group Trucks Technology, a dynamic team working towards enabling the Technology organization in evaluating futuristic products and services for Volvo business units such as trucks, buses, construction equipment and Marine
The main tasks in our team are to meet our customer’s expectation on quality, fuel consumption and to comply with emission legislation while constantly upgrading the technology. This is done by selecting engine hardware components and calibrating engine related functions. Upcoming emission legislation requires development of advanced control strategies together with an optimized hardware and software. You will be an important contributor in this development.
Powertrain is the heart of the Truck and is one of the focus areas within Volvo Group, which is at the forefront of sustainable transport solutions for tomorrow.

What will you do?
You will be responsible for a diverse set of responsibilities ranging from Engine and vehicle level Calibration, supporting in certification and compliance activities, preparing, and presenting Data on road profile, duty cycle and environmental conditions for customer applications, preparing plans and supporting in execution of Verification and Validation of the dataset and calibration. A key aspect of your role would be to become the expert for Engine Data and Installation Requirements (EDAIR). Data generation, handling and reporting would be a key aspect of this role.

You will work in agile teams through good collaboration with our colleagues in Powertrain engineering team.
You along with the team will be responsible for understanding customer usage and performance of our products and for providing our solutions throughout entire product life cycle, from idea investigation and concept evaluation to industrialization and to aftermarket and maintenance. You will make meaningful interpretations, recommendations and eventually predictions from the Data available from various sources to support our endeavor in moving towards Data Driven Powertrain Development

Who are you?
We believe that to be successful in this position, you are a team player, have strong experience in powertrain verification and validation, and a will to deliver. You have a very good understanding of Powertrain Engineering with a demonstrated exposure to Engine and Vehicle level calibration, test cell environment as well as building and executing V&V plans. You can read and interpret software function documents. You have the knowledge of certification and compliance process.
You can write Engineering Reports and Requirement Specification for Verification and Validation. You have been an active part of bringing voice of customer into the product development process.
You could be successful in this role if you have demonstrated expertise with the use of Data in the Powertrain development process.

If you are a bachelors/master’s degree holder in Mechanical/Automobile/Electronics Engineering with fantastic analytical skills, have gained a strong domain understanding in Powertrain Engineering with proven skills in handling Verification and Validation activities then you can be a good fit into this role.

Experience with Simulation tools and exposure to alternate fuels is an added advantage.
