Code of Conduct is Volvo Group’s policy for appropriate business behavior and the Volvo Group’s commitment to its employees, business partners and other stakeholders. It applies to all members of the Board of Directors, and all employed by the Volvo Group.
It is committing to the principles of the UN Global Compact, which aims at aligning businesses with human rights, labour, environmental care and anti-corruption principles. Volvo Group supports the treaty since 2001, and was one of the first companies to sign it.
The principles in our Code of Conduct are also based on the OECD's guideline for multinational companies.
Already in 1982, Volvo Group implemented an organizational document similar to the current Code of Conduct.
A holistic approach
The Code of Conduct includes business principles, environmental principles and human rights and workplace practices.
Among other points, the Volvo Group’s Code of Conduct prescribes that the Group must support human rights, observe political neutrality, report on its environmental performance, and provide a safe and healthy work environment for all Volvo Group employees.
Scope of application
The Code of Conduct applies to all employed by the Volvo Group and to all members of the Board of Directors, and forms a natural part of our company culture.
