Senior HR Manager, Volvo Penta China

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) provides human resources support to the Volvo Penta MU China, Global operations Lingang plant, Global Supply Chain, Global Purchasing and Emission Compliance team in China.

This role will be a member of the Volvo Penta MU China Management Team and Volvo Penta Lingang Management Team. And will also be part of the Volvo Group China HRCC, and global Volvo Penta HR Team.

Job Functions:
  • Support the planning, organization, and execution of various HR action plans, following HR strategies and policies to support achievement of business objectives
  • Advise, counsel, and coach managers on HR related issues and in particular: implementation of strategies and policies regarding Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations, Talent Management and Development, Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Competence Development and Performance Management.
  • Assist managers in organization design and development activities such as: design of position profiles, individual development plans, and effective organizational planning
  • Promote positive employee relations in the work environment through use of effective HR processes, including coaching managers in the application of Volvo Values and the Code of Conduct principles.
  • Act as a change agent to support management in the roll out of new organization initiatives
  • Manage Labor Relations activities and communications collaboratively with centralized labor relations resources

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7-10 year’s successful experience in a similar role
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety, and operational excellence.
  • Experience and knowledge in change management
  • A willingness to collaborate with cross-functional view and growth mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and creatively
  • Self-starter with pioneering spirit; able to take ownership quickly and reliably
  • Hands-on approach, capable of quickly switching between strategic thinking and operational work.
  • Courage to dare new things to excel previous results
  • Excellent people and teamwork skills. Strong capacity to build networks in a multicultural, global environment and to influence others to make things happen
