1. Explore our job openings
Search for open positions on our website to find a position that suits your qualifications, talents, and aspirations. There are often a wide range of different needs across Volvo Group. We are a global company. Your skillset may be needed at a nearby location, but if you are open to move, we have lots of possibilities and job openings across the world. Every job opening available to external applicants is posted on our webpage.
2. Apply
Always check the job requirement before you apply. Once you find an interesting job opening, click on “Apply”. We recommend that you keep both your resume and cover letter short, specific and clear – maximum one page for cover letter and two for resume. When you apply you might also be requested to reply to a set of self- identification questions based on the country you apply to.
You can always update your profile at a later stage. You will receive an email confirmation as soon as we have received your application. We review all applications, for this reason the lead time to receive feedback may vary.
3. Interview
If you are being considered for a job, we will meet for a first interview, in person, via video conference, or on the phone. The first interview is our chance to get to know you. We will ask questions about your professional skills as well as your personal traits. We want to know who you are as a person, and how you can contribute to our team.
It is our strong belief that an organization draws strength from different personalities, backgrounds and skills. So, do not be nervous – just be yourself! For more tips on how to prepare for the interview, see interview tips below. After this first meeting, if the match is good, the following steps include second interviews, assessments and references.
4. Final selection and offer
If there is a match between us after the selection process and interviews, the next step is the offer. In conjunction with the offer, you may be asked to complete a drug screen, background check or medical check depending on the country you will be hired in.
5. Welcome

Here are some general tips for applying for a job at Volvo, and some frequently asked questions about our hiring process.
Your application gives us the big picture of who you are and can be your entry ticket to a career at Volvo Group. When you apply for a job, a personal account will be created for you in our recruitment system. This allows for you to reuse your profile and documents when applying for multiple jobs. From your profile you can also set your privacy settings and activate job notifications in order to receive the latest job opportunities.
A standard application consists of of a resume and optional cover letter, if more documentation is needed it will be specified in the job ad. Once you have sent your application you will get an email as a confirmation.

Cover letter tips
The cover letter is optional to attach in your application if not stated otherwise in the job posting. If you attach a cover letter our recommendation is to include what made you apply for the job and how your skills and competence match the job.
Resume tips
Make it informative and have a clear layout. Write it in a chronological order, starting with your current or latest position. Describe in a concise way your roles and responsibilities for each position. We recommend a maximum of 2 pages.

Depending on the role and process, your interview can be structured in various ways. Usually the interview process includes technical, behavioral, and motivational aspects.
A perfect match goes two ways and so does the interview. It is your opportunity to show yourself and your skills set but also ask us questions that matter to you. Read in and prepare the topics you would like to discuss with us.
During the interview
As a company we draw our strength from different personalities, backgrounds, skills. Tremendous energy and passion come with our diverse perspectives. They are essential to making smart decisions, building innovative teams and ultimately making our company purpose come true.
In the interview you will be asked for examples to highlight your skills and who you are as a person. Be prepared for questions on your technical skills, behavioral situations and what motivates you.
Interviews can be face-to-face, through video or by phone. It can be conducted by either the hiring manager, a Talent Acquisition Partner or a People & Culture Partner. The interview process usually consists of multiple interviews with various stakeholders.
If having a remote/digital interview, please prepare a few things:
- Check your technical equipment ie secure an appropriate internet connection for a video call, test that your camera and microphone work well.
- Sit in a private and quiet environment.

Yes, we post all open positions available for external applicants on our careers site.
At this point we only accept applications on our open positions.
Yes, when you apply you need to also register a candidate account. You can revisit the account to apply for more positions, update your privacy settings and set a job alert to receive email notifications when new jobs are published.
When applying for a job, you will receive a confirmation mail with instructions on how to log in to your candidate account at Volvo Group. You can at any time access your account by clicking Sign In/View Profile on our job portal.
Create a job alert for positions at Volvo Group without applying for a specific role: Click "Sign In/View Profile" in the Job Openings-tab on volvogroup.com and then "Create an account" to sign in or log in with your credentials if you already have an account. Open the drop-down list to the right under "Welcome, full name" and click "Manage account". Once you're there, click "Manage job alerts" in the list to the left and then "Create Alert". Here you can choose location and any types of jobs you would like to receive notifications/job alerts about.
Create a job alert after you have applied for a position at Volvo Group: When you are applying for a job at Volvo Group, you choose the job you want to apply for in the Job Openings tab at volvogroup.com and click Apply in the job ad. After adding your resume and filling in other information that is asked for, you make sure to tick the box at the bottom stating "Notification: Receive new job posting notifications". This way you will receive notifications/job alerts similar to the one you are applying for.
We advise you to keep the CV/resume to two pages and the optional cover letter to one page.
Yes, you are welcome to apply on all positions you find to be a good match for you. However, you can only apply once to a specific job post.
This will depend on what position you have applied for. The lead time can be affected by various conditions, for example the number of applicants. We always strive to work as fast and efficiently as possible with our recruitments. As soon as we have information from the recruiting organization we will contact you.
For some positions you will be asked to record an online video interview. This is done through a specific online tool with preset questions. Please note that only the recruitment team and hiring manager at Volvo Group will review your video.
Congratulations! This probably means that we are interested in you and would like to know more about you. The tests help us understand more about you and your potential fit for the position. After you have done the tests you will be given a feedback on the outcome. Our recruiters will be happy to help you if you have any questions.
