Associate Engineer, Durability & Reliability

If so, we are seeking an Associate Durability and Reliability Engineer to join our Prototype Workshop and Test Labs team in Greensboro, NC!

Who We Are
Our Team, Prototype Workshop and Test Labs, is part of the Complete Vehicle Function within Volvo Group Trucks Technology North America. We are responsible for preparing and delivering all prototype builds for internal projects. We manage validation plans to reach the requested feature level and secure end customer satisfaction. ​​We also manage the verification plans thanks to world class physical and virtual tests on the complete vehicle. Our skilled and engaged teams are in Gothenburg, Lyon, Greensboro and Curitiba.

What You Will be Doing
As a Durability and Reliability Engineer in the Test Lab, you will gain experience and knowledge in various aspects of validation and verification engineering. This includes working with test objects, rig design support, setup and maintenance of MTS hydraulic and electrodynamic test equipment and custom fabrication in our machine shop. As a valued member of the Prototype Workshop and Test Labs team, you will have the opportunity to work directly with highly skilled Durability and Reliability Test Engineers and Technicians to develop a comprehensive understanding related to strength and fatigue testing.

You will be responsible for:
  • Supporting engineering in fixture design and fabrication.
  • Performing Instrumentation, calibration, troubleshooting of test objects
  • Developing processes and procedures for hydraulic maintenance.
  • Supporting rig builds and data acquisition.
  • Reviewing test plans for feasibility and execution planning.
  • Developing test lab procedures and best practices.
  • Training technicians in instrumentation, hydraulic controls and vehicle architecture.

What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 0-3+ years of engineering related experience
  • Hands-on engineer with an excitement for verification and validation
