Cost Accountant

Position Summary: This position has responsibility for the cost of the different products manufactured and assembled at the Lexington Operations site. Partnering with Engineering, Materials group, and Operations for the accuracy of routings, BOM, labor, and OH rates. Joint Responsibility with Materials for the accuracy of Inventory, supports decision making for inventory stocking levels, prepares inventory reconciliations in JDE and SAP, and performs other inventory related activities. This position also has responsibility for identifying and driving efficiency improvements in the manufacturing processes. This individual is responsible to identify, troubleshoot and analyze input, output and accounting transactional data to ensure the integrity of the data transfer between business systems (JD Edwards and SAP).
Core Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of operational reports for supporting business decisions
  • Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
  • Prepare and coordinate routings within JDE
  • Coordinate BOM changes for manufacturing
  • Making estimates of new and proposed product costs
  • Performs time studies to ensure the accuracy of routings and BOM
  • Performs analysis, forecasting, reconciliations, and journal entries related to Inventory
  • Coordinates and troubleshoots transactional flows from JDE to SAP
  • Supports standard costing of product (including setting standard labor and OH rates) and annual product cost roll
  • Assists in cycle count program
  • Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support Volvo Penta goals and objectives
