Function Owner Electromobility Thermal Management

The Powertrain Installation Technology team within Vehicle Engineering is responsible for developing and maintaining solutions for both hardware as well as related software functions in the areas of cooling systems, cooling fans and air cleaners for the Volvo Group truck business worldwide.
Our responsibility includes ownership of global technology strategies for our areas, as well as the complete development from advanced engineering to maintenance of parts, systems and functions introduced in Volvo Group trucks around the world. We are now looking for a Function Owner for Electromobility Thermal Management to further strengthen our team!

As Function Owner within Electromobility Thermal Management, you will be a key player in the technology shift towards electrified vehicle propulsion and auxiliary systems with focus on vehicle thermal management for hybrid electric and battery electric trucks. Your task will be to define Function requirements for vehicle thermal management systems, and to follow up on the validation and fulfilment of these requirements. You will be accountable for securing stakeholder alignment, feature balancing, brand distinction and platform harmonization for your Function area. This includes fulfilment of requirements related to vehicle performance, quality, safety etc. In this role, you will also propose and perform advanced engineering tasks to prepare for future technologies, as well as lead the work to define technology strategies for your Function area.
In order to be successful in this role, we believe that you recognize yourself in the following description.
  • You have an MSc degree in mechatronics, electronics or other relevant engineering field
  • You have minimum 5 years of experience from function or software development within the automotive industry
  • You possess very good skills in Matlab/Simulink and have experience from software function testing in rigs and vehicles
  • You have solid knowledge about thermodynamics and cooling systems
  • You are knowledgeable about of Agile way of working
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and communicate with confidence and ease in a global context
