As you can imagine, keeping track of over 1 000 000 connected customer assets rolling around the world is indeed a challenge. Now ponder, that vehicles in a few years will be autonomous – and you’ve got the challenge of your life. Our Technology team manages the development and maintenance of our global connectivity platform – and your experience is needed.
We are now looking for a Security Architect PKI within the Technology function in Volvo Group Connected Solutions. The role requires an understanding of the complete Volvo Group Transport Solution Public Key Infrastructure (VGTSPKI) solution as well as our deliveries of the Registration Authority (RA) and the Key Repositories (KR). The position reports to Director Supporting Services and is a member of the Supporting Services management team.
The role
As Security Architect PKI you are a Subject Matter Expert in VGTSPKI and cryptography based security solutions. You coordinate with many stakeholders, both inside Volvo Group Connected Solutions and in collaboration with other units in Volvo Group. Your main areas of responsibility and tasks are:
  • Perform high level design of Connected Solutions’ deliveries for VGTSPKI, and drive such initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement for VGTSPKI to continuously develop and manage adequate quality and security level
  • Take lead in addressing and highlighting PKI security architectural issues in the Supporting Services management team
There will be a need to travel occasionally, since the RA and KR is developed in Bangalore, India.
Your profile
For this position we put high focus on interpersonal skills and attitude. You are decisive but also capable of getting into details and discussions. You are a social person with strong relationship capabilities who enjoy cooperating with many stakeholders. To build trust, you have the ability to listen and learn, yet the courage to talk straight and communicate clear direction when appropriate.
You master the combination of being an experienced architect on a level where you can lead other architects, and being an experienced leader on a level where you contribute strategically in a management team.
We believe that you have:
  • A university degree in software engineering, computer science or similar
  • A solid experience as IT Architect with focus on security and cryptography
  • Experience from Java development
  • Experience from DevOps and/or lean and agile development
  • Experience from service operation and support
  • Experience from automotive industry and preferably also telematics, connected vehicles
  • Fluent in English - both written and spoken
