Volvo Trucks Honors Military Heroes with Ride for Freedom Truck

Employees at Volvo Trucks’ New River Valley (NRV) assembly plant in Dublin, Virginia recently unveiled their 2016 Ride for Freedom truck, which will take part in the Ride for Freedom rally in Washington, D.C. over the Memorial Day weekend. Now in its 29th year, the annual Ride for Freedom rally salutes prisoners of war-missing in action (POW-MIA) from all wars, as well as the brave men and women who have served – and continue to serve – to protect America.

Volvo's 2016 Ride for Freedom truck celebrates the 25th anniversary of the participation of NRV employees and the UAW Local 2069 Veteran Committee in the Ride for Freedom. The truck, a Volvo VNL 670 model, features custom-designed graphics that honor all branches of the U.S. military and will travel to Washington, D.C. with a motorcycle motorcade.
