The European Transport Forum (ETF) is a platform for open debate on the future of European Transport, created by Volvo Group Representation EU.
The theme of the 2016 debate was "Reduction of Co2 emissions from transport: where do we stand?”.
The event brought together over 200 attendants coming from different areas of the transport industry, in addition to members of the EU parliament, EU policy advisers, member states permanent representatives. etc. This year, the European Transport Forum was introduced by the EU Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete and European Commissioner for Mobility and Transport, Violeta Bulc followed by an address by Geneviève Pons-Deladrière, Director, WWF European Policy Office.
Presentations and discussions were anchored in the recently published European Strategy for Low-Emission Mobility, the challenges of implementing the COP21 Paris agreement in terms of maximising transport’s contribution to CO2 reduction efforts, and the importance of prioritising the main drivers of emissions reductions.
