Truck deliveries January-October 2005

Total deliveries of trucks from the Volvo Group’s three truck companies increased 14% through October this year, compared with the year-earlier period.

Deliveries from Mack rose 49%, while deliveries from Renault Trucks were up 5%. Deliveries from Volvo Trucks increased 12% during the period.

Mack
Deliveries from Mack through October totaled 30,171 units, up 49% from the same period a year ago. The deliveries results continue to reflect the very strong order intake from customers in Mack’s core market segments seen in the early part of 2005.

Renault Trucks
Deliveries through October totalled 59,345 trucks, a rise of 5% compared with the year-earlier period. Deliveries in Europe rose by 2%, including France where 2% more trucks were delivered. The Renault Premium Route and Distribution increased 8% while deliveries of the Renault Kerax were up 26%.
In October Renault Trucks carried on launching the renewed Renault Premium Route through its network to the customers.

Volvo Trucks
Volvo Trucks’ deliveries during the period January-October amounted to 85,366 vehicles, an increase of 12% compared with the year-earlier period. In Europe, deliveries were on a par with the same period last year (-1%), totalling 34,253 trucks. There were increased deliveries in Britain (+8%) and France (+15%).
Sales continued to increase on the North American market, with deliveries rising by 30 %. The number of trucks delivered totalled 26,702 units (20,471). This increase stems primarily from renewal of the ageing truck fleet in North America.
