Mack

Deliveries from Mack in January totaled 3,076 units, up 18% from the same period a year ago. The deliveries results continue to reflect the high order intake through much of 2005 in the North American market. Order intake in January continued to run significantly higher than normal. The strong demand indicates that customers now are factoring the upcoming 2007 emissions regulations, and the additional costs related to complying with those regulations, into their truck buying plans for 2006.

Volvo Trucks

Volvo Trucks’ deliveries during January amounted to 5,975 vehicles, a decrease of 21% compared with the year-earlier period. In Western Europe, deliveries decreased by 17%, totalling 2,286 trucks. Eastern Europe, however, saw an increase of 73% to 360 trucks. In North America, deliveries decreased by 7% to 2,307 trucks. In South America and Asia, there was a decrease of 36% and 65% respectively.
The decline is partly a result of lower demand in Middle East and partly a consequence of the production changeover in the European industrial system for the new Volvo FH and Volvo FM.
