The Swedish boat builder Nord West, based in Henån, on Orust,  30 kilometers north of Gothenburg, builds leisure boats in the 33- to 56-foot class. The company has successively advanced its position in the leisure boat segment during the decade.

In November 2005, the Nord West 420 was launched – a new model that quickly became a success. The company sold more than 50 Nord West 420’s already in the first six months.

In conjunction with the boat show in London at the beginning of January, the British boat industry named the Nord West 420 the Boat of the Year in the flybridge under 50 feet category.

Among other features, the boat was cited for its driving performance and maneuverability with Volvo Penta’s joystick and for its onboard spaciousness.

The Nord West 420 is one of the first flybridge boats in the world with a bottom design developed for Volvo Penta’s new IPS drive system.
