(Chesapeake, VA)  -  Clint Moore, President and CEO of Volvo Penta of the Americas, Inc., is pleased to announce the appointment of Phil Gaynor to Director of Sales/Applications and Marketing.  Gaynor brings over 25 years of valuable marine industry experience to his position and high level energy to the Volvo Penta team.

As Director of Sales/Applications and Marketing, Gaynor will oversee all aspects of Sales, Sales Applications and Marketing as well as Dealer Development for Marine Leisure, Marine Commercial and Industrial.

Prior to joining Volvo Penta, Gaynor served as the Marine/RV Business Manager at MotoTron Corporation (formerly a division of Brunswick Corporation), and previously directed the OEM rigging products group for Mercury Marine.  While at Mercury, Phil led the development of the SmartCraft® electronics initiative.  Earlier in his marine career, Gaynor spent time in product sales and support at Raytheon Marine and gained valuable dealer sales and store management experience at Bassett Boat Company in Connecticut.

“Phil brings a unique combination of skills and experiences to this most important of positions,”

said Moore. “His system knowledge coupled with his traditional hard product experience brings an important skill set to our business partners to help improve customer satisfaction and profitability.  We firmly believe successful companies of the future will deliver system solutions, not traditional hardware ones.  This will be the core of Phil’s challenge.  I am confident of his success in this transformative time.”
