Under the agreement, Volvo Penta TAD764VE engines, rated at 225 kW (306 hp), are powering Sullair’s family of 600-900 CFM portable air compressors. The compressors are produced in Sullair’s factory in Michigan City, Ind., USA and are already in use by customers across North America.

Darren Tasker, Industrial Business Director for Volvo Penta Region Americas, stated: “This agreement to be the engine supplier-of-choice for Sullair shows great confidence in our engines and technology. We are fully committed to providing Sullair with products and services that support developing their business.”

Kyle Smith, Director of Marketing for Sullair, commented, “The Volvo Penta technology allows Sullair to develop a Tier 4 interim compliant compressor without increasing the size of the machine. Sullair’s Volvo Penta powered compressors have lower fuel consumption than many competitive compressors, resulting in significantly lower operating costs for our customers. With the addition of the Volvo Penta engine, Sullair has an expanded portable air compressor product offering, giving our customers high-quality choices in selecting the right product for their applications.”
