(CHESAPEAKE, Va.) – Feb. 13, 2014 – Volvo Penta of the Americas is offering customers an Oil Analysis Program designed to make it easy to obtain expert diagnostics of engine oil. The program is available for all Volvo Penta diesel and gas engines.
Engine oil analysis provides a basic driveline “health check” for an engine, yielding a wealth of information on what’s going on inside. With this information, you can plan your maintenance more effectively and reduce the risk of unplanned downtime and repair expenses.
The process is fast and easy. Collect your oil sample and send it to a Volvo Penta laboratory. There, technicians use the latest advanced diagnostic equipment and draw on their extensive expertise to perform a rigorous analysis. The laboratory will send back a complete report by email within 24-48 hours with recommendations for actions to maximize engine performance. Volvo Penta also maintains a website containing a history of all oil analysis reports for each engine, making it possible to track the wear of the engine over its lifetime.
“The exclusive Volvo Penta Oil Analysis Program takes advantage of the unique knowledge and expertise available in our two accredited and ISO-certified laboratories in North Carolina and Ontario,” said Ed Monacchio, vice president, aftermarket & customer support, Volvo Penta of the Americas. “Our lab technicians are very familiar with the acceptable levels of additives and elements found in engine oil for Volvo Penta products. With oil analysis data, they can draw on their experience to gain visibility into what’s happening to the internal parts of the engine.”
“We recommend performing oil analysis at regular intervals to optimize engine performance and catch small problems before they become big ones,” said Monacchio. “Regular analysis makes trends visible and provides an early warning of problems that can cause severe damage to the engine.”
