Volvo Trucks Customer Experience Center Offers Fleets Full Electromobility Experience

Volvo Trucks North America recently celebrated the opening of its new electromobility showcase at its Customer Experience Center in Dublin, Virginia. The custom-designed facility offers its customers the unique opportunity to test drive the Volvo VNR Electric model around a 1.1-mile closed track, where drivers can experience real-world road conditions. Additionally, the 36,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility features new Volvo VNR Electric component displays, training, and fully operational charging infrastructure.
The Volvo Trucks Customer Experience Center in Dublin, Virginia now offers its customers a full electromobility experience including a ride and drive in the Volvo VNR Electric, charging infrastructure demonstrations, training and components displays.

“Volvo Trucks is ready to support wide-scale battery-electric truck deployment in North America,” said Peter Voorhoeve, president, Volvo Trucks North America. “We have fully integrated our electromobility offerings into the Volvo Trucks Customer Center to serve as a resource for the North American transport industry to secure the in-depth information and hands-on experience needed to move forward with fleet electrification.”

Volvo Trucks is committed to making its customers’ transition to electromobility and electric truck ownership streamlined, viable, and cost effective. To help reach this goal, Volvo Trucks’ team of onsite specialists will be able to answer questions related to:

  • Volvo VNR Electric vehicle specifications, including the 264-kWh lithium-ion batteries, which charge up to 80% within 70 minutes and have an operating range of up to 150 miles based on the truck’s configuration and application.
  • Special financing and insurance solutions for the Volvo VNR Electric and charging infrastructure investment through Volvo Financial Services.
  • The comprehensive Volvo Gold Contract service and support offering with the Volvo VNR Electric, incorporating maintenance, towing, uptime services, and full coverage of major components.
  • Infrastructure best practices, including installation partners, hardware and software options, and anticipated project timelines.
The Volvo Trucks Customer Experience Center is located next to Volvo Trucks’ New River Valley manufacturing plant where the Volvo VNR Electric is assembled.

“We are excited to welcome fleets to our Customer Center for the full Volvo VNR Electric experience, where each visit is tailored based on our customers’ specific needs and operations” said Rob Simpson, director of the Volvo Trucks Customer Center. “When customers start the transition to battery-electric vehicles, it is crucial to take all aspects of the electromobility ecosystem into account—from vehicle procurement to verifying a match between routes and range, establishing

charging infrastructure, securing funding, and more. The Customer Center provides fleets with an opportunity to have these in-depth discussions, as well as test drive the Volvo VNR Electric, interact with the drivetrain display, and plug the truck in at our newly installed charging station."

Earlier this year, Volvo Trucks announced multiple funding programs customers can leverage to help make the transition to zero-emission vehicles more cost-effective for their fleet operations.
