Volvo Trucks North America showcase the all-new Volvo VNR for the first time in Canada during Truck World 2026 (Booth #1049), taking place April 16–18 at The International Centre in Mississauga, Ontario.

“Bringing the all-new Volvo VNR to Canada for the first time allows fleets to see firsthand how Volvo continues to advance safety, fuel efficiency and driver comfort in trucks engineered for today’s regional operations,” Matthew Blackman, managing director, Canada, Volvo Trucks North America.

All-new Volvo VNR makes Canadian debut

Leading the display will be the all-new Volvo VNR, which recently began production in North America at the New River Valley Plant in February 2026. Designed specifically for regional haul operations, the next-generation VNR features a comprehensive redesign focused on enhanced safety, improved fuel efficiency and a more comfortable, driver-centric cab environment.

Two Volvo VNR models will be featured in the booth, giving attendees an up-close look at the truck platform engineered to meet the evolving needs of regional fleets.

Volvo will also showcase multiple models from the Volvo VNL platform, including a Volvo VNL 860 equipped with Volvo’s Camera Monitor System which replaces traditional mirrors with camera-based technology designed to improve visibility and aerodynamics. The VNL platform continues to gain momentum across Canada, including the largest Canadian order of the all-new Volvo VNL earlier this year, demonstrating strong demand for Volvo’s redesigned long-haul truck.

Volvo Academy immersive training experience

Visitors to the Volvo booth will also be able to experience the Volvo Academy training portal, including interactive demonstrations using virtual reality headsets. The immersive technology provides a hands-on learning environment designed to help technicians and fleet personnel better understand vehicle systems and service procedures.

Volvo Trucks press conference

Volvo Trucks will host a press conference on Friday, April 17 where company leaders will share additional insights into Volvo’s latest vehicle technologies and strategic initiatives. Topics will include:

  • Continued growth and market adoption of the new Volvo VNL in Canada
  • The start of production for the new Volvo VNR and its first Canadian customer order
  • Advancements in connected vehicle technologies and remote programming capabilities
  • Early insights into Volvo’s next vocational truck platform planned for introduction later this year
  • Sustainability initiatives, including the use of recycled materials in truck components.

Volvo will also participate in Truck World’s educational programming. Sasko Cuklev, head of On-Road Solutions at Volvo Autonomous Solutions, will join a panel discussion exploring emerging technologies and the future of autonomous commercial transportation.  Johan Agebrand, director of product marketing for Volvo Trucks North America will join a panel session comparing the powertrains and infrastructure needed for 'The Future of Freight: Hydrogen, Batteries, and the Road to Net Zero'.
