For the second year in a row, Volvo is the market leader for heavy trucks in Europe.

Volvo Trucks was the market leader in Europe for heavy trucks (16 tonnes and above) in 2025 with a market share of 19.0% – up from 17.9% 2024. The markets with the most registered Volvo trucks during the year were UK, France, Poland, Germany, Lithuania and Spain. Volvo’s long-distance FH Aero truck has won the hearts of many European haulers.

”We are very proud to be market leader in Europe for the second consecutive year. Our goal is to be our customers’ best business partner and being market leader is strong proof of the confidence our customers put in us. It makes us very proud, and I wish to extend a big thank you to our customers and our employees for this great achievement.” says Roger Alm, President Volvo Trucks.

Globally, Volvo Trucks is market leader or the second largest brand in 30 countries in 2025.

Major investments in North America

In 2025, Volvo Trucks North America achieved a 9.2% combined market share across the United States and Canada, representing a slight decrease from 2024, primarily reflecting broader market conditions in the long-haul segment, which is central to Volvo Trucks’ North American business. In total 21.428 trucks were delivered in 2025 in the United States and Canada. To support long-term growth, Volvo Trucks has invested more than $2 billion in product development for the North American market, including an additional $400 million in its New River Valley manufacturing facility in Virginia.

Towards fossil-free transport
Volvo Trucks drives the transition towards fossil-free transport to reach its net-zero emissions target by 2040 using a three-path technology strategy. The three-path technology approach is built on battery electric, fuel cell electric and combustion engines that run on renewable fuels like green hydrogen, biogas, biodiesel or HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil).

Designed and built in the United States, the all-new Volvo VNR lineup is optimized for shorter-range operations, featuring a tighter turning radius ideal for urban routes, while maintaining the versatility to perform long-haul operations when needed.

”We will continue to innovate and introduce new trucks that contribute not only to our customers’ businesses, but also to the decarbonization of our industry. By investing in multiple technologies we can offer transport solutions that fit a variety of customer needs and markets," says Roger Alm.

”Europe” means the European Union plus UK, Norway and Switzerland (EU30).
