NRV - Operations Tech III - Global Pilot Plant

Role Summary
The Pilot Plant Operations Tech III position will produce components by assembling parts and subassemblies. Will move material in position and maintain inventory. Will troubleshoot and repair heavy duty trucks.
Job Duties
Perform any combination of the following repetitive tasks according to specifications and using hand tools, power tools, and production specific tools:
  • Position and fasten together truck subassemblies including frames, axles, powertrains, cabs, electrical components, hydraulic systems and air systems
  • Bolts, screws, clips, or otherwise fastens together parts to form subassemblies, such as doors, seats, instrument control panels, steering columns, and axle units.
  • Installs mechanical and electrical components and systems, such as engine, transmission, and axle units; pumps; wire harnesses; instrument control panels; and exhaust, brake, and air-conditioning systems
  • Use advanced knowledge and ability to assemble components by examining connections for correct fit
  • Implement advanced knowledge on assembly, attachment, and installation of parts
  • Advanced understanding with differences in detail, when inspecting parts or work performed, checking for defects or quality issues, or when distinguishing various parts/components by identification number or code
  • Use of advanced skills in detect and repairing non-conformities
  • Use cranes and other lifting devices in a safe manner
  • Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts or tuggers
  • Assist in developing and following standard work operating procedures
  • Advanced understanding with differences in detail, when inspecting parts or work performed, checking for defects or quality issues, or when distinguishing various parts/components by identification number or code
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED/equivalent
Associate degree or technology certification in business or industrial discipline or minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy duty truck assembly preferred
Certification in forklift operations
Advanced knowledge on assembly, attachment, and installation of parts
Excellent communication skills
Advanced computer knowledge and experience

Ability to create and follow written plans and procedures
Demonstrated advanced attention to detail
Ability to teach/train others
Able to work a flexible schedule (holidays and overtime)
Must be able to work overtime as required, and work any shift
Must be able to maintain regular and reliable attendance
Ability to: stand for extended periods of time, reach, bend, squat and climb
Able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
