What is the Job?
We are seeking to add a Material Department Lead to our team in our Lexington Production Plant. This role you will be responsible for assisting the Materials Supervisor as needed in training, scheduling coordination, resolving workflow challenges and other supervisory related responsibilities. Perform all supervisor functions in absence of supervisor. Delegate work or act as substitute in case of departmental absenteeism.
Some of your core responsibilities will include:
  • Assist Supervisor in work assignments, training of employees, approval of absences or overtime, participation in selection of new employees; new employee orientation, employee appraisals and taking disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Solicit employee input regarding procedures, methods, tooling, etc.
  • Trouble shoot technical/computer related issues (e.g. RF Smart, Work Order/Job Jacket Preparation)
  • Enter EBD purchase requisitions

We are looking for a resourceful and responsible individual to prepare and maintain receiving records and labor project forms as required . The candidate we’re looking for should be keen on teamwork, ability to meet deadlines, attention to detail and time management.
In addition, excellent communication and basic mathematical skills are necessary as is the need for fluency in speaking and writing English to communicate successfully with internal and external stakeholders.
Education & Experience:
This position requires the following:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years experience in manufacturing environment
  • Forklift operation certification
