Tax Specialist

Volvo Group Canada Inc., is currently looking for an effective and independent Tax Specialist to fill a vacant position within his current team. The location of the job is flexible and will be located in one of the Prevost facilities (Dorval, Sainte-Foy or Sainte-Claire).


Reporting to the Tax Supervisor, the Tax Specialist is responsible for supporting the supervisor in upholding the compliance of all Volvo Group Canada Inc. legal entities in Canada and the USA with tax legislation.

He/She provides legal and compliance reporting for legal entities under their responsibility and ensures compliance with tax regulations, quality standards, and partner requirements. They keep up to date with the latest developments in taxation and enforce compliance with these requirements when producing reports for the legal entities.


  • Research and document information relating to the complete production of sales tax returns and compliance reports for the legal entities.
  • Research and document information relating to annual income tax return preparation.
  • Monitor changes to tax law and update documentation.
  • Prepare required documentation and tools to support audits from government agencies and answer questions from auditors.
  • Update transfer prices and related documentation.
  • Enforce compliance with tax application through internal verifications and monitor the relevant processes.
  • Provide accountability for tax account integrity in balance sheets.
  • Support colleagues outside their core function and throughout the organization to answer questions.
  • Prepare monthly tax provisions.
  • Recommend improvements to the monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Take part in various compliance and standards projects.

  • University degree in accounting
  • CPA title
  • At least 3 years of tax experience
  • Multi-site experience
  • Master’s degree in taxation or in-depth CPA tax program, an asset
  • English and French
