#tecHER's global impact

5 mins. 5 mins.
#tecHER has grown into a global movement inspiring future talent and opening doors for more women in engineering. But its strongest impact happens locally — when sites turn ambition into action. Changwon Technology in Korea is a powerful example of what that can look like. In 2025, its local #tecHER event showed how employer branding, business needs and cross-functional collaboration can come together to create real results.

By welcoming female engineering students on site, Changwon gave potential candidates more than a company presentation. It offered first-hand insight into the people, culture, and career opportunities behind Volvo Construction Equipment. For two engineers who now work at Changwon Technology, that experience became the moment Volvo CE stood out — and the reason they applied for jobs there.

“What impressed me most was hearing directly from female engineers and visiting the site,” says Junkyeong Park, Structure Engineer in the Frame and Exterior team. “It wasn’t just company promotion — it helped me see this as a place where I could build my career.”

The visit also challenged assumptions. “I expected a rigid, conservative environment,” she adds. “But seeing the site and speaking with engineers made me realize that diversity is not just something people talk about here — it’s taken seriously in practice.”

For Dayhe Park, Structure Engineer in Operator Interface, the experience brought clarity at a crucial moment. “As a first-time job seeker, I was still trying to understand what kind of engineer I wanted to become. The cross-functional mentoring session was a turning point. Hearing women from Operations, Purchasing, and Technology share their journeys helped me see my own path more clearly. Knowing there are opportunities to move and grow internally gave me the confidence to apply.”

That confidence matters. When candidates understand both the role and the culture before they apply, they arrive with stronger motivation, clearer expectations and a better sense of how they can contribute from day one.

From employer branding to business impact

At Changwon, #tecHER proved to be far more than an awareness initiative. It became a meaningful talent touchpoint — helping the business attract people who were ready to engage, grow and contribute early.

Since joining, both engineers have demonstrated fast learning, strong communication and active participation. Their managers value the fresh perspectives and positive energy they bring, helping teams challenge assumptions and approach problems in new ways.

Changwon already has strong university partnerships in place. #tecHER strengthened that foundation by connecting directly with female engineering students and translating global ambition into local impact.

That is why #tecHER matters. When teams collaborate across boundaries and take ownership locally, employer branding becomes business value — in the form of stronger pipelines, stronger teams and more diverse thinking.

What happened in Changwon can happen anywhere, thanks to #tecHER.
