“The AR technology allowed the concrete industry professionals who stopped by the Mack booth an efficient and effective way to get a detailed view of a Granite model, built to their specifications, and see why it’s the right truck for the variety of jobs they do,” said John Walsh, Mack Trucks vice president of marketing. “The Mack AR Truck Builder experience provided an immersive way to showcase the full breadth of the Mack Granite offering using a significantly smaller booth footprint.”
Show attendees could quickly build customized Granite models to their fleet specs, starting by pointing one of Mack’s tablets loaded with the Mack AR Truck Builder app at the Granite model Mack had on display. Attendees chose from core Mack powertrain specs and other features, including the ability to select from an unlimited number of colors, add their company logo and select between a standard mixer, bridge mixer or dump body.
In addition to the opportunity for a large, 3D review of their trucks, participants were also emailed their comprehensive spec sheet with a rendered image of their custom Granite model for future reference with the Mack Trucks team and their local Mack dealer.
Mack Granite cabs are built for the jobsite, offering best-in-class ground-to-floor height, easy maneuverability and maximum visibility and comfort. The Granite chassis comes ready for upfit right out of the factory, cutting down on body installation time and reducing cost.
Mack Granite models are powered by the Mack 11-liter Mack MP®7 and 13-liter MP®8 engines, packing up to 505 horsepower and 1,860 lb.-ft. of torque. Granite models are available with the 13- or 14-speed Mack mDRIVE™ HD automated manual transmissions.
Granite models feature Mack GuardDog® Connect, Mack’s integrated telematics solution that monitors critical fault codes, and when it detects an event, proactively contacts our 24/7 Mack OneCall™ agents. Through Mack GuardDog Connect, several service alerts can be resolved using Mack Over The Air (OTA), which allows customers to make unlimited driver-activated software and parameter updates, improving uptime and simplifying the update process.
Available for Mack Granite axle back models, the Mack Command Steer active steering system provides a significant reduction in driver steering efforts at slow speeds and suppresses uneven terrain, such as potholes, dips and ruts.
Also available for Mack Granite models, the next generation of the integrated camera- and radar-based Bendix Wingman Fusion driving assistance solution helps improve safety for those on the road or traveling to a jobsite. The solution offers Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and enhanced lane departure warnings to help mitigate the potential for collisions.
