What did you do at your summer job?
I have had two summer experiences at Volvo Group. During my first summer at Volvo Group Logistics, I worked with overseas transport planning and the documentation connected to shipments of trucks and buses. It was very hands-on and taught me a lot about how logistics works in practice.
During my second summer work, as part of the Power Up program, I worked more analytically. I investigated how an internal customs-related system was used across the organization, talked to people in different functions, mapped the current usage, and presented my findings to the relevant stakeholders to support clearer ways of working.
Why do you want to work at Volvo Group?
I want to work at Volvo Group because I enjoy the culture and the way people collaborate. From my own experience, it’s a professional and supportive environment, and as a large global company, Volvo Group offers many opportunities to develop and grow over time.
What are your most important experience at your summer job?
The most important experience was getting practical, hands-on insight into what you can actually work with as an engineer after graduation. I also learned that if you are curious and proactive, and you ask questions and start conversations, most things become easier to solve because people are supportive and willing to help.
Do you have any advice for anyone seeking a summer job at Volvo Group?
Apply! My advice would be to stay open-minded and say yes even if the role is not exactly what you first imagined. You learn a lot either way, and it can open doors to new opportunities within the company. Be curious, ask questions, and try to connect with a lot of people, because that’s how you learn the fastest and get the most out of the experience.
